Countertops are ideal for many reasons in a kitchen. One is for family and friends to sit around while dinner is being prepared. Looking for those that are comfortable will make your guests linger longer, however, finding bar stools which are unique can add personality and charm to your kitchen.

One thing about kitchen countertops is they must be protected when they have an overhang. The norm was to add a corbel to bring protection, however, did you know that wood corbels do not protect your granite from breaking? Wooden corbels are only decorative! Hidden L-Bracket Countertop Support Bracket

The Hidden L-Bracket is a granite support bracket giving a little more support to your countertop. This additional support comes in handy when you have an overhang on a bar top that is deeper than the standard 12 inch or for a bar top which is very long and will be seating 4 or more people. The L-Bracket Support is extremely helpful when installing a granite top on a kitchen island or standard cabinets when there is no knee wall or pony wall.

Installation of the Hidden L-Bracket:

Simply install a 2X4 or 2X6 to the inside back wall of the cabinet, route or chisel out the pocket so the granite bracket sits flush and then attach the bracket to the 2×4 or 2X6. Insert the granite bracket and attach it using the pre-drilled countersunk holes with #10 2-inch screws. We recommend spacing your brackets 20 inches apart for maximum granite protection; however, you can go up to 22 inches apart.

The L-Brackets are hidden under your countertop; giving your countertop the appearance of floating.
